Graduation Party Ideas |
| Graduation from pre-school, high school or college is a milestone that should be celebrated. The guest of honor could arrive in a big yellow school bus. Decorate party rooms like a school. Staff should be dressed as school staff members; teachers, nurse, gym teacher, cafeteria worker, janitor. | ||||
Ideas for inspiration: ABC's, books, reading, writing, arithmetic, art, history, geography, library, the principals office, gym, lunch, recess, field trip, pep rally, party, bus, teacher, janitor, nurse, cafeteria worker, formula, test, report card, school colors, grade, graduate, cap & gown, diploma, mortar board, tassel, yearbook, memories, money. |
Invitations: Diploma with party information, attach a school colored tassel. |
Set-up & Decorate: Have guests sign-in in the office, go their classroom to meet teachers, the gymnasium for activities, the lunchroom for what else food, the playground for recess and the auditorium for awards. Use lots of school books, pompoms, school colors, educational posters, globes, maps and fake money, gold bars (bricks painted gold). Class of XXXX balloons, banners and signs. Mortarboard centerpiece filled with flowers, letter grades, mini diplomas, dollar signs. Make a money tree out of wire or actual branches, and attach real or fake money as leaves. |
Refreshments: Serve food cafeteria style, on lunch room trays; chicken nuggets, hamburgers, sandwiches, tater tots, macaroni and cheese, green Jell-O, sheet cakes, and mystery foods. For drinks; serve chocolate milk in small paper cartons or fruit punch. No food fights now! |
Activities: As guests arrive play What Knowledge: have graduate bring all the books he/she has read in school. Guests fill out a slip of paper, guessing the number of pages in them without opening the books. Play recess type games: dodge ball, capture the flag etc. Get a job!: bring job ads from newspaper, have everyone find a job the graduate is best suited for, fill out a form with job information. Read them all aloud and give prizes for the most interesting, best suited etc. Guess the country: number bags of money (real or pictures) from foreign countries, have guests guess where they are from. Currency connection: make a list of countries, have guests try to guess the form of currency they use. |
Gifts, Favors, Prizes, etc.: School clothing, mugs, bumper stickers, money bags, wallets, briefcases, a personalized picture frame. Fact books, dictionaries, things you never knew - for people who need help. Useless knowledge award - for someone who is full of it. Send thank you's in the form of a job resume, you never know who could get you a job! You could also send them in the form of a newspaper announcement of the guests new job (one you think is appropriate, of course). |
Other ideas: Many of these party ideas can also be used for a Class Reunion. |
